Works well, but frustrating for power users
Scott I.ˇ Opinión proporcionada por tp-link.com ˇ 9 de julio de 2024
We got the new TP-Link Tri-Band WiFi 7 BE10000 (Deco BE63) wireless system. We have had this for almost 6 months now and over all we are mostly happy with them. I am running them in Access Point mode. For most households, this system is fairly easy to setup and maintain. The coverage is very good and the speeds are fast. I love that I finally can use some of my devices that support the 6 Ghz channels. I am in IT and run my business from home so we do push these routers/access points to their limits more than most. We currently have around 35 or so devices (laptops, tablets, phones, cameras, etc) on the network and it jumps up to 50 or 60 devices on a regular basis.
We have the 3 of these spread evenly through out the house. One in my office, one central on the main floor, and one central upstairs. We have no problems with coverage or speed. I am not using the wireless mesh feature. They are all directly wired to my switches in the basement.
My biggest complaint by far is that you are not able to configure some key aspects, like selecting the wireless channels and adding additional SSIDs. For such high end wireless routers/access points, this is very frustrating. Not being able to select the wireless channels (especially for 2.4 Ghz) has caused problems for us. It auto selects what it "thinks" is the best set of channels based on its scans. It is very very wrong in our case! It is killing our Zigbee devices that also run on 2.4 Ghz because we can not move the channels picked by the TP-Link software Deco. I have tried to trick it by intentionally having other APs broadcasting on the channels it thinks are the best in hopes of pushing it to a different 2.4 Ghz channel. It still keeps selecting the same. It also seems that you are only able to configure some aspects through the app only. They should have a better direct UI that can be accessed from a regular web browser. I do not want yet another app. I wish I could put OpenWrt or similar on these, but that looks unlikely.
I think most people would be happy with the TP-Link WiFi 7 Deco BE63. I do wish they had more advanced user configuration options. I do not like things that are dumbed down with no way to access more advanced features. At the very least let me tell you what 2.4 Ghz channel to use. I am torn between giving these 5 stars for the technical specs, but only 2 or 3 stars for the Deco software and app. I am also not a fan of apps that try to up sell you on another service.
WIFI 7 Speed, Easy Setup, Good Coverage, & Backward compatible with older M9 Plus Deco

I have had a TP-Link mesh system for at least 7-8 years (M9 Plus) and have been very happy with it. No reboots and good coverage. However with the advent of WIFI 7 and its potential speed increase, I began to search for a newer mesh system. After much deliberation, I ended up purchasing the BE 10000 (or BE63) system from TP-Link. I had read a number of reviews about the system that were mostly very positive, but each situation is new. To my happiness, the system was very easy to setup using the Deco App (and I was even able to replace my current main Deco (attached to my cable modem) with the newer Deco without re-configuring my current network. Also, my remaining M9 Plus Deco units, were totally compatible with the new system. I have only had the system a week, but so far, no reboots necessary and all of my linked devices (2.4GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHZ) have remained connected and functional. As always with any new system, I remain cautiously optimistic! Hopefully the new system will last as long as the M9 Plus system and be as free from problems as well.
REVIEW FOR THE BE10000, WiFi 7

REVIEW FOR THE BE10000, WiFi 7
This is first generation WiFi 7 hardware on the market at time when the official WiFi 7 standard hasn't been finalized/approved. So appreciate what that means.
Your endpoint device will need hardware that supports WiFi 7 and on PC there are some software support considerations as well. Problem is at time of this review you're not going to have good options for the device side of WiFi 7. There are a number of early market WiFi 7 adapters if you're into tinkering and troubleshooting. Phone/tablet wise there's like a couple out there that have WiFi 7 chips. Expect the top makers to wait until the standard is finalized and maybe then only include it in their premium lines at first; such as how Apple only gave WiFi 6E to the 15 Pro this series. So notably there is a cost to value consideration because if you're not able to make use of WiFi 7 then you could probably look at one of TP-Link's WiFi 6E mesh router kits and get almost everything this does but at considerably lesser cost.
I have one endpoint on my network that can actually establish the WiFi 7 connection. I'm using the Intel BE200 adapter on a Win11 machine. Win10 is not supported with this radio's drivers, this is the software consideration I mentioned earlier. Allegedly there is a workaround but I'm not interested in tinkering with that. Now am I doing anything with all this vast bandwidth? No. I'm not in a position to build a full multi-gig WiFi network right now. But if I were this router would be a good first step particularly because TP-Link gave these 4x2.5 Gbps ports. That is a big win over some of some of their current competitors who are building either mostly or exclusively 1 Gbps and thus limiting backhaul and multi-gig potential.
Setup occurs in an app, the app requires you make a TP-Link account. I took a star off for this and I think I'm being generous for not taking more. I find this ask to be equal parts annoying and disappointing. Firstly because requiring a connection to the vendor detracts from the ownership of this expensive appliance. And secondly because this router now has an expanded attack surface for no good reason.
Great Router but beware of lack of web interface

This router is great, providing true 6e (6ghz) wifi. I have yet to reboot the router since turning it on and it's been 3 months. It hasn't slowed down or given me any real issues. I installed mini 5v fans on top of each node to keep them cool, but that isn't necessary. Devices connect easily and with the right wifi configuration in the app, no one device will bottleneck the rest.
The one BIG downside to this whole line of routers (not just this one) is the lack of a web interface. TP-Link decided for the DECO line to exclude web access to the router. You must use their app, which isn't the worst thing but for times you don't have your phone or want to access via some other device you aren't able to do. If this had a web GUI, then this would be hands down my favorite router.
I still recommend this to others because it is a good stable router. TP-Link, add a web interface please!
