MULTIMEDIA

Mention the term ‘MULTIMEDIA’ and you will get these pictures above as definitions and examples. The fact that i relied n this picture is a form of multimedia. It is simply everywhere around us. In a world where computer technology is so advanced and so very highly used, defining multimedia is never easy. BUT I’ll just come up with one definition out of many; systems that support the interactive use of text, audio, still images, video and graphics.

Multimedia encompasses all of media used in electronics, particularly with computers;the use of computers to present text, graphics, video, animation, and sound in an integrated way. It has long been touted as the future of revolution in computing, multimedia applications were, until the mid-90s, uncommon due to the expensive hardware required. With increases in performance and decreases in price, however, multimedia is now commonplace. Nearly all Personal Computers are capable of displaying video, though the resolution available depends on the power of the computer’s video adapter and micro-processor.

There is Interactive Multimedia; the means to interface with these media typically with a computer keyboard, mouse, touch-screen, on screen buttons, and text entry allowing a user to make decisions as to what takes place next with this multimedia.
